Among the most prestigious residences on the Peak, this project stands out as distinctly modern with pure geometric forms juxtaposed and modular claddings utilized throughout. Its planning is practical and pragmatic, orientated towards maximizing views and keeping functionality top priority. LCL sought to inspire the end-users and celebrate the concept of "living" and "the home", providing an ideal retreat where one can relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The 4,306-sq-m site is flanked by Plantation Road to its south and Severn Road to its north. Six triplexes perch on a cliff-edge overlooking Victoria Harbour with each triplex occupying approximately 4,500 sq ft, built in split-levels around a central sky lit atrium. The complex spreads over two blocks sharing two common entrances from the car park, whilst being individual abodes with private entrance vestibules and front gardens if accessed from the ground level.
The Long Island Spa is an "annex" development built to complement the existing Long Island Golf Resort Complex. Although the design for the Spa respects the existing architecture, its objective was to introduce a flavour of the tropics to the Golf Resort. Therefore, it was important that the Spa's architecture and interiors offered peace and tranquility whilst at the same time rejuvenating the senses, similar to the spas found in South East Asia. In essence, the Spa should provide a sense of utopia at the heart of a bustling resort.
The Long-Island Spa occupies a ground floor of approximately 13,989 sq ft plus a lower ground area of 2,690 sq ft. The Spa comprises a main building and three pavilions connected by an open walkway. The main building houses a reception hall and waiting area on ground floor and children's playroom, changing room/washroom and five individual massage rooms at lower ground level. Each of the three pavilions contains two massage beds and a bath/Jacuzzi.
Chelsea Court by Sun Hung Kai Properties is a deluxe six star serviced apartment development in Hong Kong West. LCL designed three model flats themed with different styles to unfold the design versatility of this development.
The Tomassini Suite features LCL's interpretation of a new "Hollywood" style. The hard edges and sleek surfaces along with the rawness of zebrano and intricacy of oriental frosted mirror motifs create a place with sex appeal. The strong contrast of coffee and cream predominates the entire flat, defining each space and providing continuity. The chrome cylindrical sofa/bed is a feature and together with custom vintage crystal chandeliers add to the overall ambience of decadence and new-age glamour.
Three show-apartments are set amidst lush parkland and gardens, facilitated with outdoor sporting and active recreational pursuits such as croquet, golf and horse riding. Each apartment has its own unique theme inspired by a particular period and location. Its adjacent gardens complement and serve to reinforce this theme.
Chateau Vendome is inspired by the many country mansions in Bordeaux, France. It has a sophisticated style with subtle hints of luxury and decadence. Spaces are formal with expansive views. The palette is creamy and relatively light but has an infusion of luxurious surfaces, textures and materials. Croco-leather, alpaca fur, cowhide, macassar ebony and chrome stainless steel enrich the interiors to stunning effect.
The Arch is at the pinnacle of elite residential developments in Hong Kong. It offers luxurious city living, breathtaking panoramic harbour views and a full scope of residential amenities. It is a true gem, a one-of-a-kind development. The salons at The Arch are show-apartments designed with the very same exclusivity and inspired by the energy, culture and wealth of the city. Each salon is influenced by the beauty and unique qualities of a precious gemstone.
The Reception and sales areas of The Arch, together with all its show-salons, are built on the 10th and 11th storeys of an exhibition space. Visitors commence their journey on the 11th storey and proceed to a Reception Lobby, through to a video room, Transportation Model room and descend to the 10th storey via a grand elliptical glass staircase to the 10th floor's show salons. The journey ends with the Rajapur Penthouse's Roof and final Sales area.
The duplex comprises two 1,500-sq-ft apartments connected by a new double-flight staircase made of glass, timber and steel. It contains a living room, a master bedroom with two en-suites, an open study, laundry and amah's quarters on the 2/F; dining, kitchen, family/playroom, boys room with en-suite girls room and guest bathroom on the 1/F; and balconies on each floor. A home for a family of four including two children, with live-in accommodation for 2-3 helpers, the design had to make efficient use of space, contain all the necessary household paraphernalia and be child-friendly.
The palette of materials, colours and finishes is a finely balanced mix of rough and smooth, matt and sleek, dark and light. These contrasting characteristics are juxtaposed and combined to create a harmonized interior while the innate beauty of natural materials is expressed.
